Peter Jöback for Christmas

peterjobackjulkon

Someone sent me this new photo of my favourite male singer, Peter Jöback, and I was so taken by it, I just had to share it.

Being the Christmas season, especially in Sweden, means a lot of Christmas music. Peter released his first Christmas album back in 2002 which totally changed my outlook on Christmas music. The good news is that he released another Christmas album just last week in Sweden and Norway. This one is called “En god jul och ett gott nytt år” (A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year).

There are four brand new songs plus live versions of a further six favourites from his other seasonal album. In Sweden, the album is only available through the ICA supermarket chain as it is a charity release. I wasn’t going to let that stop me and I’ve given a friend over there strict instructions on getting it for me. Well, not that strict – more like begging him! 🙂

If you’re interested, you can hear complete versions of two of the new songs and one of the live songs by clicking on this link. If you just leave it, the songs will start up automatically. The songs are:

  • Änglar i snön (Angels in the snow)
  • Gott nytt år (Happy New Year – no, not the ABBA song)
  • Jul, jul, strålande jul (Christmas, Christmas, Brilliant Christmas)

You may not be able to understand Swedish but you can still appreciate the depth and warmth of Peter’s amazing voice.

Peter is just about to start a Christmas tour of Sweden with a one-off date in Norway. Sadly, I won’t be able to make it so I’ll have to make do with the DVD of one of Peter’s Christmas concerts back in 2003.

I just wish Australia wasn’t so far away from Sweden. Sigh.

    Hi Grant!

The album is so beautiful, I do hope you get it soon! Too bad you won’t be able to come here to enjoy some of the concerts 😦

(Australia being far away from Sweden hasn’t stopped you before – has it? ;-))

    Take care!

    Moi
